The game hands you a mutation and a number, but never the two together. This calculator puts them together: pick a crop, add the mutations it is carrying, and you get the base value, the combined multiplier and the final sale. It covers the whole mutation list, from x2 weather effects up to x500 exclusives, and the whole crop list β 52,221 crop-and-mutation combinations in total.
It exists because the two halves of this maths live in different places. The crop price list tells you what a crop is worth untouched, and the mutation list tells you what each mutation multiplies by β but neither answers βso what is this one actually worth?β

How the mutation calculator works
One multiplication, applied as many times as you have mutations. Everything below the form recalculates as you type.
- 1Pick the crop. Every entry in the dropdown has a base value the game itself sets β the price you get for selling it with no mutation and at base weight. The list is sorted by base value so the expensive crops are at the top, and it holds 309 crops.
- 2Add each mutation the crop carries. Add them one at a time. Order does not matter and the same mutation cannot be added twice, because a crop either has a mutation or it does not.
- 3Watch the combined multiplier. The multipliers multiply together, not add. The panel shows the product so you can see why a x20 and a x50 is x1,000 and not x70 β this is the single most common misunderstanding about mutation values.
- 4Set the quantity. Scale the per-crop figure up to however many identical crops you are selling. The quantity multiplies the result and nothing else β it does not change the multiplier, and it does not unlock anything.
- 5Compare against the next-best option. Under the result the calculator shows what adding one more mutation would do to the value, so you can see whether chasing a rare x240 is worth more than a common x20 on top of the stack you already have.
What the calculator counts β and what it leaves out
One number goes in, one number comes out: base value Γ every multiplier on the crop. That is the whole model, and it is deliberately this narrow. Three things are left out on purpose:
- Weightβ in game a crop also scales with (weight / base weight) squared. Weight is a property of the individual fruit you harvested, not of the crop, so including it would turn a tool that answers βwhat is this worthβ into one that answers βwhat was that specific fruit worthβ. Leaving it out means the calculator always understates the real sale.
- The friend sell bonus β a flat percentage added at the point of sale. Because it applies to everything equally it shifts every figure the same way, which means it can never change which crop or which stack is the better choice.
- Practical stacking limits β the calculator will happily model a five-mutation stack. Whether you can build one in game is a different question, and covered in the FAQ above.
On the crop side, the dropdown is limited to crops whose base value can be trusted. A handful of entries in the source data carry impossible numbers β seed costs above a billion coins, sub-minute grow times on crops worth six figures β and those are filtered out rather than shown, because multiplying a corrupt base value by x500 produces a very confident wrong answer.

The top of the 169-mutation list, highest first. The right-hand column shows what each one would do to a Β’10,000 reference crop, which makes the spacing between the tiers visible β the jump from x20 to x240 is not a small upgrade.

Every crop paired with every mutation β 52,221 combinations in total β ranked by the resulting sale price. This is the table that does not exist anywhere else: other sites list multipliers in the abstract, which tells you Goldsparkle is x500 but not what x500 is actually worth on anything you own.

Two things are worth reading out of that table. First, the same few crops dominate every row β once the multiplier is fixed, base value is the only variable, so the winner is always whichever crop already sold highest. Second, the multiplier column barely moves: the entire top of the leaderboard is the same x500-class mutation applied to different expensive crops. Chasing a rarer mutation is usually worth less than chasing a more expensive crop, because you control which crop you grow and you do not control which mutation the weather hands you.

How does the Grow a Garden mutation calculator work?
It multiplies. Every mutation in the game carries a fixed multiplier β Wet is x2, Gold is x20, Goldsparkle is x500 β and a crop carrying that mutation sells for its base value times that number. Pick a crop, add the mutations it is actually carrying, and the panel shows the base value, the combined multiplier and the total. Everything recalculates as you change the inputs, so there is no submit button.
Do mutations add together or multiply?
They multiply. A x5 mutation plus a x20 mutation on the same crop is x100, not x25 β which is why the gap between a stack and a single mutation is so much larger than players expect. It also means one very high multiplier is worth far more than several low ones: x500 on a cheap crop beats x20 on the most expensive one in most cases.
How many mutations can I stack on one crop?
The calculator lets you add as many as you like so you can model an ideal stack, but the practical limit is smaller. Higher-tier mutations often overwrite lower ones, and several of the combination mutations consume their ingredients β Tempestuous, for instance, is built from Windstruck and Twisted rather than sitting alongside them. Treat a long stack as an upper bound rather than a plan.
Why is my in-game sell price higher than the calculator shows?
Because of weight. The game scales a crop by (weight / base weight) squared as well as by its mutations, and the calculator deliberately leaves weight out so that the crop comparison stays clean. In practice a heavy crop sells for more than this tool shows, never less β so treat the number here as the floor for that crop and mutation combination.
What is the highest mutation multiplier in Grow a Garden?
The single highest is Goldsparkle at x500. Above that you are stacking: two x500-class mutations together are worth more than four figures in multiplier terms. The leaderboard further down this page ranks what the best combinations actually look like against real crop prices.
Which crop is best for a mutation?
The one with the highest base value that you can actually get, because a multiplier scales whatever it is applied to. A x500 mutation on a Β’1,000 crop is Β’500,000; the same x500 on a Β’450,000 crop is Β’225,000,000. That is why the leaderboard below is dominated by the same handful of expensive crops β the multiplier is identical for everyone, so the crop is the only variable you control.
Why are some crops missing from the dropdown?
The list covers 309 crops β every crop with a real base value, a seed cost that is not corrupt and a grow time that is not obviously wrong. A small number of entries in the raw game data have impossible numbers (seed costs above a billion, sub-minute grow times on very expensive crops), and those are excluded rather than displayed, because a multiplier applied to a broken base value produces a confident wrong answer.
Does the calculator include the friend sell bonus?
No. The friend bonus is a flat percentage applied on top of the final sale in game, and it applies equally to every crop, so including it would shift every number in the same direction without changing any comparison. Add it yourself at the end if you are selling through a friend.
